This is the finished wall for animepaper.net, it was made with Photoshop CS 8.0 and it is ok Eureka from Bones Eureka Seven, so this is Fanart of sorts, however it is a wallpaper. Vectored, it topped out over 50 layers.
"Riding the Waves of Life... Listening to the Soundtrack of Your Soul" Meaning life is bumpy, you have to ride it out, but don't forget the music of your soul is the soundtrack of your life! I know it is a long word slogan that I made to go with this wall. (I talk too much in real life too) I am a crazy artistic person that is seen constantly wearing headphones slightly pushed back behind my ears, when people ask why I wear them that way, I retort "it's the soundtrack to my life, it helps my soul ride the waves." but that wouldn't have gone on this wall right. (man I miss surfing, I guess that is why I am drawn to Eureka Seven) Made with Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0, a Wacom pen & tablet (a must have) and a scan that I found on Animepaper, this wall took over fifty layers on the main subject alone, with all the vectoring outlines, gradient masks and hand coloring and shading, that I used it took over two days to complete Eureka, I submitted the blank BG version in the forums to get Ideas on what I should put in the BG. Many people had many very good ideas, some made my vector cheaper looking and some were absolutely perfect sounding. (just too hard to execute; I am still a noob) I decided that vector rays fit good with the wall and started off with a plain blue rays, I hated how plain it looked still. I made the "Eureka Seven" logo with a font named "Downwind" I got from [link] (good site for fonts; they have over 16,000) still it looked plain, I thought that an Icon suite i got from customize.org called genesisbubbles gave me the idea for the layer style that was used for the series title. The same style was applied to the reverse rays (white part of the rays). the blue rays that I started off with was edited when I applied a gradient, that too was still plain. I took a bunch of different brushes and layered a new layer with the same vector mask that I used to apply the gradient and multiplied it over the gradient and added a outer edge glow, Eureka was give some extra depth when I made a hidden layer that was a silhouette of her and applied a drop shadow. The headphones are all my design, I sat there staring at the image I vectored from the original thinking what type of phones I should use, remembering the style of her board matched her outfit I fashioned, huge anime style headphones that match her motif. It's a techno, '70s-ish, ultra-blue wallpaper. I hope you enjoy it! Comments are always welcome, enjoy the wall everyone.. Check out my artwanted.com site :Gallery: [link] and leave comments there for me too Thanks for the brushes! animepaper.net site [link] ********UPDATE 06/07/07******* Wow so many favorites! I just want to say thank you! another thing.... I did use brushes that I didn't make myself Whomever asked for a print, I am sorry I cannot because of the agreement that there will be no commercial use of other's brushes.... and the fact that this character is fan art of a copyrighted character not owned by me. I apologize about that... however it is a wallpaper! Please Check the rest of my yes this is kinda a hand drawn (not traced ) reproduction of another image, don't ask for a reference.... Half the time I dunno where I got them.... CommentsSymbolism, that's what this wallpaper is all about...
